where are all my parents?

Dear Aiden,

I’m here babysitting for you while Mommy is on safari to Africa. Yesterday your Daddy had to go to West Virginia overnight. I slept in Daddy’s bed so I could hear Sky if she woke up. You woke up first and came running into the room. You saw me in bed instead of Daddy and you said; “Where are all my parents?”

You fell on the floor like an arrow had pierced your heart. It’s so hard to explain that they were coming back tonight and soon.

You have been very brave to be two weeks without a Mommy. She’s going to be so proud of you and how you went to day care and moved up into a big boy classroom and was kind and sharing to Sky and helpful to me around the house. But trust me there is no replacing a Mommy.

XXXOOO Nana Beth

  1. What a heart wrenching story, Aiden? I know you love your Nana Beth, but parents are really important people and I hope you never forget that, when you get older and think you are smarter than them.
