great day at tae kwon do

Aiden had a great day at Tae Kwon Do today. Master Lee is going to test him for yellow belt in January. Fingers crossed!!!

Master Lee can get Aiden to sit still for 20 seconds without moving a finger. After the concentration exercise Aiden stands up and says "Thank you, SIR!" as he bows to Master Lee. I love it!

it's the principle of things

My parents gave Sky a "Dore the Explorer" backpack. The backpack sings the "backpack" song and contains all of Dora's helpful gadgets including the talking map. Sky loves her Dora backpack so much that she insists on sleeping with it every night. The other night, we didn't allow her to go back downstairs to retrieve her backpack before bed so she sulked. I finally gave in and brought the Dora backpack to her room. I could tell she was still unhappy but I didn't really give it another thought. Later that night as Adam and I were checking on the kids before going to bed, we notice that Sky had put not only the Dora backpack outside her door but also her own school backpack.

Now, how does a two-and-half-year-old know about principles? I'm already intimidated by her teen years!

sledding the day after Christmas

Since Aiden was wearing his full snow suit, Sky borrowed Aiden's jacket. You see, it provides a little extra coverage and cushioning for her bottom.

Aiden sledding on Daddy's back.

Sky tried to push this snowman down but "it wouldn't sit!"

Two very exhausted boys

Aiden loved riding on Adam's back. The entire way down the hill he would "yahoooo!!!" and laugh with excitment. Wait until he tries snowboarding.

Christmas 2009!

Sky trying on her Tinkerbell costume.

Aiden and Sky got digital cameras from Auntie Sam and Uncle Henry...the cameras are a HUGE hit.

Aiden follows me around the house asking me to stand in different spots and various poses.

The camera can hold up to 500 digital images!

Sky got a Little Mermaid jewelry set from Mommy and Daddy.

...and a Dora the Explorer watch from Teresa! She looks like such a big girl when she glances at her watch.

Daddy's little "princess mermaid"

SNOW!!!

Aiden will tell you, the number one rule of eating snow is to never eat yellow snow. Thank god he knows that already.

Unlike Aiden, Sky was not into diving into the snow head first. She was however, into following Aiden around and ask "you need a hand, Aiden?"

The snow came up to Aiden's waist!

I'm not a big fan of winter but, if every winter day was a snow day I'd forget all about summer.

You gonna jump, Aiden?

Sky summoning her courage to jump off the "mountain of snow".

Aiden sliding down Bobba's car....all of our cars just looked like giant marshmallows.

Aiden made snow angels all along our neighbor's side yard.

Our driveway...

Aiden demonstrating his snowball making technique.

Our cars looking like giant marshmellows.

This seemed like a good idea but little girl wouldn't have it.

That's the swimming pool and the vegetable gard.

This was the view looking out of our front door.

...and the back deck.
