it's the principle of things
My parents gave Sky a "Dore the Explorer" backpack. The backpack sings the "backpack" song and contains all of Dora's helpful gadgets including the talking map. Sky loves her Dora backpack so much that she insists on sleeping with it every night. The other night, we didn't allow her to go back downstairs to retrieve her backpack before bed so she sulked. I finally gave in and brought the Dora backpack to her room. I could tell she was still unhappy but I didn't really give it another thought. Later that night as Adam and I were checking on the kids before going to bed, we notice that Sky had put not only the Dora backpack outside her door but also her own school backpack.
Now, how does a two-and-half-year-old know about principles? I'm already intimidated by her teen years!

Sky isn't really two-years-old, I think she is at least 14. She has a great sense of right and wrong and she knows who she is...already. I don't know how someone so young can understand the concepts that she does. She is very, very blessed and will give us all a run for our money.

I know! It's like "here take the Dora backpack, I don't want it if you won't let me get it myself...and as a matter of fact, take this other backpack too. See if I care!"
