Okay, so she's twenty-three months going on 36 months old. Her verbal skills have improved a lot over the past month. She's also reasoning a lot and is really curious about how things work or why people do the things they do.
Her favorite question is "Why?".
"Why Mommy? Why it's dark now?"
"Why Mommy? Why Daddy went to work?"
"Why Mommy? Why do you have a meeting?"
"Why? Aiden goes to school?"
There breif moments in time when these two aren't fighting or arguing. Sometimes I look back at my old post about how "my kids are never jealous". Well, I'm eating those words now. The jealously is out of control these days. I could say one nice word to Sky and Aiden practically falls apart. On the other side, if I hold Aiden, Sky wants to be held too. I bend over to hold her too but she pushes Aiden off my lap. Next thing I know Aiden is attacking her and she's launching into him.
Aiden: That's my Thomas train.
Sky: NO, AIDEN!
Aiden: Mommy, Sky said no to me!
Sky: AAAHHHHHH!!!!
Aiden: DON'T YOU!!!!!
Sky: I HAVE THOMAS FIRST!
Aiden: YOU HAVE TO SHARE!
Sky: NO!
Aiden: YES!!!! Mommy, Sky's not sharing!
Sky: MY TRAIN! YOU DON'T TAKE IT, AIDEN!
Me:
Aiden: Sky is not sharing my toy with me.
Sky: Here, Aiden. You have the train.
Aiden marches off upset but satisified that he got his train back.
Sky is already busy playing with another toy.
Laila is glad it's all over.
Dear Mommy,
ReplyDeleteThe madness of the day...ahh yes, I can remember only 150 of 'em. See the good part is, as you age, you'll forget the other 8 ka-billion of 'em. It'll all meld together and poof, it disappears!
But in the moment it is CONSTANT and LOUD and NEVER ENDING! Hang tight and enjoy the ride.
xxxooo MOM
As Nana Beth says "Hang tight and enjoy the ride". All of this will be over before you know it and the next thing you know they both will be dating, Prom King & Queen, and so on and so on.
ReplyDeleteSavor every argument, every word, every action. The memories are what you have to carry you through to the end.
