my sunshine

I still have a baby monitor in Sky's room. I had it on today during her afternoon nap. I was working at my computer when I heard her stirring in her crib. Then I heard a soft little voice singing and it sounded something like this:

"sunshine, my on' sunshine, make me haaaapyyyy...en sy gray. Love youuuuu...ah ha ha"

Now, we do sing this song together from time-to-time but to hear her sing it by herself so softly was a treat.

Is this kid for real? I couldn't make this up people!

  1. With our girl named Sky, her skies are never gray, nope she's all about sunshine and happiness! You heard what you heard and you are right, you cant' make these things up. They are what that are and you were blessed to hear the solo.

  2. You've got to put a sound recorder in there - maybe voice activated or something. Baba used to record our conversations when he sang to us before bed and they were hilarious. It would be so awesome to have that sound someday when she's older. Plus, I want to hear it :)

  3. Nothing can replace a recording of your child's voice, so maybe Baba can figure out a way to capture your sweet music. It made me cry when I read this one, as the first song I learned to sing was "You are my Sunshine" and my Daddy taught it to me. He also rocked me to sleep and sang "Good Night Irene" to me as a child and I still can soothe myself by singing that song too. Sky, you are so very PRECIOUS!!!
