machinehead

You might recall that Aiden wanted a "real motorcycle" for his birthday but that didn't happen. He then asked Santa for a motorcycle for Christmas but Santa let him down too. His obsession with motorcycles has only intensified. He talks about motorcycles all the time...especially when we're in the car.

Aiden: When I have a motorcycle, and I see a red light, I stop. When I see a green light, then I go fast!

Laila: You're going to drive fast?

Aiden: No. No. 'Cause then the policeman will give me a ticket.

Laila: Are you going to drive carefully?

Aiden: Yeah, if I'm not careful I might crash and someone might get hurt.

Laila: Right. I know you'll be a good driver.

Aiden: Then now can I get a motorcycle?

...it always comes back to that question.

Aiden: Where I can buy a motorcycle?

Laila: Mmmm...at a motorcycle shop.

Aiden: There's a motorcycle shop by the little house (va beach)?

Laila: Yes, you're right. There is a motorcycle shop near our house at the beach.

Aiden: I wanna got to the beach, Mommy. I want to ride a motorcycle on the beach.

Aiden: Sky when I have motorcycle, you can ride in the back. Not the front, the back. Okay, Sky? I sit in the front and I drive. 'Cause cause you don't know how to drive. You're too little. Okay Sky? And you have to wear a helmet on your head too little girl. Okay little baby?

Sky: Yeah.

  1. I have NEVER met a little boy or even a big boy that doesn't want a motorcycle or doesn't love something about the freedom it gives you. My son, Shane had his first motorcycle at the age of 6 and was racing Motocross and BMX (on a bicycle) for several years. It just comes with being a BOY!!

  2. Dear Aiden,

I'm glad to hear what a good driver you will be. Safety first, travel the speed limit, wear the helmet, you've got it down pat. You are a responsible boy and when the time is right I bet you'll get that motorcycle.

Your cousin Nora wants to be an elephant rider in the circus. She says you have to be careful doing that too because elephants are very, very big.

I'm glad you both know being careful is the key to motorcycle or elephant riding. And I'm glad you'll let Sky ride on back too, very thoughtful.
