surreal

I'm wearing shades.

It's nearly 2.

I've got my paci.

I'm nearly 2.

My mom wants to sleep.

I don't.

So we organize her closet instead.

At 2.

She made me waffles.

And sausage.

It rocked.

She rocks.

Washed it down with a yogurt smoothy.

That rocked too.

It's 85 degrees in here.

We don't have power.

Going on day 2.

That means no AC.

Generator is running.

Not enough to cool the house.

My Dad says he can't sleep 'cause it's too hot.

His flip flops melted today.

My Mommy put me in my the pack-n-play.

I climbed out.

My Daddy put me in my crib.

I climbed out.

I'm not sleepy.

I'm on island time.

Maybe we should just go back.

It's nearly 3.

In the morning.

Or is it 9?

In  the evening.

I'm so cool with shades.

Or do I mean I'm hot.

It's not the shades.

It's 85 degrees in here.

My dad's in the living room.

Reading.

He can't sleep either.

I walked up to him with my shades on.

He looked like he'd just seen a ghost.

I said "chill!"

He said "but it's too hot to chill!".

"What are you doing with those shades on?" he questioned.

I shrugged.

"Downstairs?" he added.

Mom shrugged.

He said "babies don't walk around with shades on in the middle of the night".

Baby?

I'm nearly 2!

We shrugged.

"Surreal", he sighed.

It's a strange night.

Or is it a strange day?

We'll never know.

Fweak.

  1. Now this is hysterical and all of you were in zombie land to be sure. How in the world do you come back down to earth when the earth was tilted on the wrong axis? Good that you got a clean closet but what a price to pay as the morning hours and sleep slipped away. This will be funny to read later on, maybe even tomorrow, but lacking sleep nothing is funny.

Thanks for sharing this, Love it.
