footloose

"I want to go home and listen to my CDs and dance," said Aiden as Adam was picking him up from school yesterday. You see, Adam fixed the CD player that Aiden had broken only minutes after opening it at Christmas. He LOVES his CD player and is constantly switching CDs and selecting songs. It's really funny to hear Rockwell's "Somebody's Watching Me" blaring form Aiden's room...a random free CD we got at Wendy's on our long trip back from the beach. He calls his sister into his room and they dance together.

...totally reminds me of a little Kevin Bacon in Footloose.

  1. Dear Aiden,

When I was 13 I got my first record player that was mine alone. I got one 45 record with it, Teddy Bear. The song was a US number-one hit for Elvis Presley during the summer of 1957, and his third of the four that he would have that year. "(Let Me be Your) Teddy Bear" would also hit number one on the R&B Best Sellers List, becoming his fourth number one on that chart. In addition the song would hit number one on the country charts for a single week. I know it rose to such fame because I played it non-stop from morning till night all summer. I knew every word after a day. I sang it in the bath, during breakfast, while I babysat my brother and sisters. But Aiden, I was a teenager and you are 4 1/2. Guess we music addicts are starting earlier these days.

I'm so glad Daddy fixed you CD player!

    XXXOOO Nana Beth
