an engineer and a policeman
From time to time I like to ask Aiden what he wants to be when he grows up. In the past, I've heard Spiderman, Batman, a [con]'struction worker, a fireman but this last time he gave me a different answer.
Laila: So what do you want to be when you grow up?
Aiden: I wanna be an engineer.
Laila: Really? Like who?
Aiden: Like myself! I want to build things.
Laila: That sounds like a good job.
Aiden: Yeah, and I also want to be a policeman.
Laila: Great! And you could protect people and catch the bad guys, right.
Aiden: Yeah...and punch them right in the eye!

You come from a long line of engineers. Your great-great grandfather Stephen Vincent was a road and bridge builder, your great grandfather, Charles Luis, was a same, and you know Bobba Steve and all his equipment is a builder too and does mostly water and sewer lines. Bobba Rahmon loves to build things with his hands and makes beautiful walls. So it makes sense that you would be a builder of some kind.
ReplyDeleteIf you become a policeman, you know right from wrong, so you would be able to make very smart decisions about what people should be doing.
Yes, I can see you being either one. The good thing right now is that...you don't have to decide today.
XXXOOO Nana Beth
I think those would be great jobs Aiden, but won't you be pretty busy being a superhero?
