assessing the storm damage

Lots of houses were damaged all along the beach.

This was one of our favorite restaurants just a few yards from our house.

Adam and Aiden standing in the bar....yup, the bar. The bar still had furniture and a bottle of diet coke.

Oh mannnn, this does not look good.

  1. Oh man, what a shame. Mother Nature has to flex her muscles sometimes and when we build too close to her she needs to push us back in place.

I sure hope there wasn't any damage to your "little house."

  2. Holy smokes! Check out this article that came out yesterday (two days after the pictures were taken).
    --------------------------------------------

    From WAVY News Channel 10:

    Mar 29, 2010 4:54 p.m.

Only months after a nor'easter destroyed much of the building, a popular Virginia Beach restaurant was met with fire.

Crews responded to Alexander's On The Bay in Chick's Beach at around 4:15 p.m. Monday.

Fire Department spokesperson Tim Riley told WAVY.com the fire started on the second floor. Crews had the fire under control in less than 30 minutes.

Riley said Monday evening that, because the building didn't have the power turned on, they know the fire wasn't caused by an electrical problem. Investigators believe that the fire may have started suspiciously.

Alexander's On The Bay was condemned during the November nor'easter.

  3. Oh no, the damage was great, hope everything has been fine, even hope, that nobody would want that to happen, but hey, life is, and what a pity that life also has to be so, is it? This was all damage done by water from the beach? Oh my God. That is, that is, that's terrible. Since Mother Nature may have let it happen? But ultimately, the blame is not hers, it happens because of the destruction Jeez man nature, and as we know, everything is back. Kisses and cheers. Goodbye little man.
