We took the training wheels off Aiden's bike and he immediately took the bike out for a ride. Approximately 3 minutes after starting to try, Aiden rode down the driveway on his own. I really thought this would be a momentous occasion but Aiden thought absolutely nothing of it. He got off the bike gave me a half smile and decided to move on to the next activity.
Laila: Aiden do you know how awesome it is that you don't need training wheels any more?
Aiden: ((shrug))
Laila: It takes some kids days, weeks or months to learn how to ride without training wheels.
Aiden: Why?
Laila: Why? Because it's not easy to do...you have to have good balance.
Aiden: I have good balance.
Laila: I know you do, that's so awesome. You're awesome!
Aiden: Mommy, I want to ride my scooter.
Laila: Don't you want to ride your bike some more?
Aiden: I already rode my bike.
Yes, we realize that bike is too small for him. We have a deal with Aiden. He will get a new (bigger) bike when he gets his BROWN Tae Kwon Do belt....he has his belt test in about six weeks.
Just taking it all in stride and another thing to scratch off your bucket list. You are a very cool, unassuming young man Aiden. And YES, you have balance, as a matter of fact that could be your middle name.
