aiden's grapes

Aiden checks in on all of our fruits and vegetables daily...this season he's taking care of our garden which includes tomatoes, cucumbers, cilantro, basil, mint, bell peppers, banana peppers, hot chillies, egg plant, arugula, and strawberries. In other areas of the yard he has the two apple trees (which now has a whole apple growing!!), figs, blueberries, blackberries, and now grapes.

My dad gave us two grape vines that the kids LOVE. Everyday after school Aiden checks in on the grapes and picks us a few ripe ones.

"Mom, mom, let me show you something. I have a surprise for you. You're gonna love it. It's berry cool. First, I need you to close your eyes. Okay. Now, I'm going to put something in your mouth and you will love it. Now, berry quickly, close your eyes. Okay, Mom?"

  1. Farmer Aiden you will learn so many things caring for your fruits and vegetables. Both of you Bobba's love to garden and both of your grandmother's love to cook with fresh vegetables. My grandmother Eva, who would have been your great-great-grandmother had a farm. Besides all lthe animals she too had acres of corn for both humans and cows and very large gardens and fruit trees. About this time of the year we'd all have to go to her farm and help her can the fruits and vegetables. You would have been a BIG help to her. I bet she's smiling down from heaven right now saying, "That Aiden is such a good little farmer."

  2. I do believe that Aiden has inherited his Great-Great Grandma Blays's talent for growing things. How wonderful for your family to have a an able bodied Farmer in your immediate family!!
