metro to the museum of natural history

This was Aiden's first "train" ride and he enjoyed every minute of it.

Yeah!!! We're on the mall and the weather is great!

Aiden and the tyrannosaurus rex

It really hurts...

The "Discovery Room" was a big hit with Aiden and Sky. They got to touch and play with fossils, shells, bones, teeth, and other ancient artifacts. The microscope was a hit with Aiden. I can see him wanting a chemistry set in a couple of years.

Aiden hears the ocean.

Sky hears it too...

"Check this out, Mommy!" - Aiden

"Oh man, is this a skeleton?"

Junior scientist

"Look at the tentacles on that thing!"

The butterfly exhibit was cool but way over priced at $6/person...we were in there for like five minutes.

A great way to top off a trip to the museum!

You could stick a fork in her (but please don't)...she was DONE after that trip.

  1. Dear Sky,

No matter how "done" you are we'd never stick a fork in you. Sometimes, because you act older than 2 1/2, we think you have endurance. We have to remember no matter how beautiful you are you STILL need your beauty nap. Plus when you are trying to keep up with the most active 4-yr-old brother you really exhaust yourself. Thank goodness Daddy is there to give you the lift and support you need. Thank goodness Mommy is there to take the photographs and record the events.

Aiden, I can see you being the scientist, or the archeologist, or the National Geographic photographer or maybe all three at the same time. You want to know and do everything. You want to understand why things happen the way the do. Your keen love of learning will serve you well all your days.

There is nothing you two can't do.

    XXXOOO Nana Beth

  2. Hi Aiden,

I was looking at your family blog this morning and saw a photo of you with your arm in an alligator's mouth at the Natural History Museum’s Discovery Room. I called you on the phone.

“Yes Nana Bet, that was me but it wasn’t a live alligator.”

    “It was dead?”

“It looked like it was alive. It was just the head. But it wasn’t bloody and the mouth didn’t work to eat you. It’s mouth was open like this.” My guess is that you opened your mouth even though I couldn’t see you because you were not talking.

“You wouldn’t put your arm in a real alligator’s mouth would you?”

“Yes I would because I have super powers.”

“If you have super power an alligator won’t bite you?”

“If you were friends with an alligator he wouldn’t bite you. If you had super powers you could close his mouth and he wouldn’t bite you. But Nana Beth, he didn’t bite me at all.”

Whew, I’m glad we got that straight.
