sky sees a rainbow

Around 3:30 pm today a really pretty rainbow appeared and we had a perfect view from our back deck.

I pointed the rainbow out to Sky and she was totally mesmerized.

For about ten minutes she was on the deck looking at the rainbow and playing in the puddles.

She also found herself a little worm. Thank god she took pity on it and threw it off the deck. Last time she stepped on it before I could stop her.

She's finally getting at that age where she's taking notice of things. She must have seen hundreds of rainbows in Kauai but at that age (ten months) she'd glance a couple times but that was about it.

She also noticed her reflection in the puddles....another source of amusement.

Where was Aiden during all of this? Upstairs taking a well deserved (me being the deserving one) nap.

  1. The beautiful photos that your Mom or Dad takes are so wonderful. Great picture of your FIRST rainbow. I bet your little mind was whirling when you saw all that color up in the Sky!! You are so smart and discovering water puddles to see your reflection in or stomp in, now see, that's something a 3 year old would do. Way beyond your years!

  2. Well Miss Sky,

We did see rainbows all the time in Kauai but there was so much to see. There were waterfalls, flowering trees, pounding surf that if you missed the rainbows there it's OK.

Seeing this rainbow on a dark fall afternoon was beautiful. You have the beautiful blue eyes that can really appreciate the color. You have the sparkling eyes that can appreciate the puddle reflections and you have the compassionate eyes to give a worm its freedom.

You have amazing eyes that will see wonderous things each and every day you live.
