Nicolas one day you'll come to be complaining about something Aiden or Sky did to you and I will show you this post.
As I was putting you in your crib Aiden tiptoed into the room and whispered "Mommy, can I kiss Nickster goodnight?" I said sure and I kneeled down with you in arms and Aiden kissed you on your first on your forehead , then each of your hands, then each of your feet. Then he whispered in your ear, "I love you, little Nickster."
Sky was watching me change your diaper this morning. She was trying her best to keep you entertained while I was cleaning you up "Nicolas, you are soooo cute. How are you so cute, Nicolas? God made the cutest baby! Mommy, how did God make a cute baby like Nicolas? Isn't he just soooo sweet? I love youuuu, Neeee-co-lis!"

Nicolas rockin' some jeans
First time in jeans....he has the body for jeans let me tell you...long and lean! These jeans (Aiden's hand-me-downs) are already too short on him...taked after his brother.

Nicolas is seven months old...today!
So what's Nicolas like at seven months old?
Well for starters he smiles all the time...as soon as he makes eye contact he smiles. He has a great temperament and I still say he's our easiest going baby.
He loves to jump in his "jumper" - he could do this all day if we let him. Consequently, his legs are superhero strong.
He loves his sister. He watches her, listens for her, and as soon as he spots her in the room his eyes are glued to her. And Sky knows how to keep Nicolas entertained....she does all kinds of acrobatics, she sings, she makes funny faces, she laughs hysterically, or whatever it takes to keep her "Moon Moon" entertained.
He adores his brother. I can already tell that Nick is going to be Aiden's shadow in no time. I am amazed at how similar the two brothers are already. Many of Nicolas's mannerism are an exact copy of Aiden's when he was the same age...the expressions they make, the food they prefer, the type of things that grabs their attention, their perpetual motion legs, their ready to play hide-n-seek and chase....just everything! Like my Dad says ( a Farsi saying) "they are one apple, two halves".
He takes two naps a day - one in the morning for about an hour and then a second nap in the afternoon for about two hours.
His favorite foods: butternut squash, apples, bananas, sweet potatoes, rice cereal, oatmeal, pears, mangos, and BREAD. Yes, he's already tried a little bread and of course his favorite is naan (Afghan bread)...the kid has good taste.
His nicknames (cause you know this family does a lot of nicknames!): Moon Moon (Sky and just about everyone else), Mun (Sky and Mommy), Nickster (Aiden & Adam), Sweet Sir (Mommy & Daddy), Foos (Mommy), Nico (Grandma), Balong (Teresa), Mr. Berry Good (Mommy and Aiden), Bache-Gul-e-Ma (Bobba)
He does well at tummy-time...he's pushing up well and he' can roll over both ways (front to back and back to front).
He's definitely teething and my bet is that we'll see a tip of a pearly white within the next ten to fourteen days. BTW - both Aiden and Sky got their first tooth at seven months.
Nicolas also knows how to get Aiden and Sky's attention (already a performer) he does the longest, loudest, wettest raspberries and he thinks it hilarious. Aiden and Sky love it too and they cheer him on to do more...I love it too I just wish I could get to my dang iphone so I could record it for the blog. Check it out below!

aiden earns his tae kwon do BLUE belt
Relaxing before dinner and belt test...it's important to be mentally and physically ready for the grueling test. It was nice to sit outside for dinner it was a balmy 70 degree in Oakton.
Group warm-up..."hanna, doul, set, net, da-sut, ya-sut, il gup, yuh-dul...ah hop!"
Aiden ceremoniously rolling his retired purple belt so that the Master may put on the new belt.

aiden's brother
I think Nicolas looks like both Aiden and Sky but there is something about his expression or maybe actions where all I can see is Aiden five years ago.
Aiden about five years ago.

follow me, mom
Exploring the woods just beyond our backyard.
"Mom, Mom, follow me, ok? Just follow me. Keep coming Mom. This is going to be so cool, Mom." - Aiden

bizarre foods for kids?
We went to the Asian grocery store yesterday to pickup some fresh produce and fish. This little boy had to have a taste of every sample they were giving out - shrimp patties, fried fish of all sorts, squid, fruits and vegetables, chips, and deserts. He's an adventurous eater for sure...he could do a kids version of Bizarre Foods (a favorite of mine)....hmmm, maybe I should pitch that to the folks at Travel Channel. Anyone know anyone that knows anyone?
our world is beautiful!
It was such a treat to play outside yesterday. Sky was so happy to finally enjoy the outdoors - riding her tricycle, jumping on the trampoline, chasing Aiden... she suddenly burst out with "our world is beautiful!" with her arms wide open looking up at the sky.
Come on spring!!!
time for a bonfire
Surprise, surprise....Aiden is a pyro like his Mommy. If there is a fire, we must poke a stick into it.

chicken leg
chicken leg - (noun) a sudden, abrupt, or spontaneous pain in the leg caused by injury or excessive exertion, or the sudden need for mommy or daddy's attention. The pain maybe so extreme it may cause a small boy to suddenly drop to the ground and roll around holding his leg. Though extremely painful, it does not cause a small boy to cry just laugh and say "oh no, chicken leg, oh no, i gotta chicken leg." Chicken leg is easily treated by a few hugs, kisses, attention to the leg, rubbing of the leg, and admiration of the leg's bulging muscles.

a big brother with a big heart
"Mommy, Mommy, Mommy.....Mommy, I have an idea! I have a great idea. Next time someone gives me money, I'm not going to put it my wallet or my piggy bank. You know what I'm going to do with it? I'm going to keep in my room for when Nicolas gets big. And when he does something for me, I will give him the money. Isn't that a good idea? I think when he's one he'll be able to do things for me. I think he'll be big enough then. Oh but he might put the money in his mouth. Do one year olds still put things in their mouth? Maybe I'll wait until he's two 'cause two year olds don't put things in their month. Right, Mommy?"
- Aiden
Adam gave Aiden a quarter the other for helping find something he was missing. Aiden was very excited to earn the quarter on his own.

one brother and one bother
"Mommy, I have one brother and his name is Nicolas and I have one bother and his name is Aiden."
- Sky
I'm not sure where she got this, I suspect school or a video but I think it's pretty funny.
