pool day

Sky in the locker room getting ready. I can just see her years from now getting ready in the locker room as she's being interviewed by Olympic reporters.

There was no way I was going to take my iPhone to the deeper end of the pool so these are my only shots.

Both kids were amazingly comfortable in the water.

"Mommy, I wanna to go to the pool EVERYDAY."

Why does Aiden have that open mouth look in all of these pictures? That's him trying to conceal his smile. He gets that from Daddy...he wouldn't want anyone to know that he's having a great time.

can't be patient

Aiden has a dentist appointment tomorrow morning. He's been looking forward to it for over two weeks.

Aiden: Mommy, I can't sleeeeeeep.

Laila: Yes, you can. Just lay down and relax. You can read one of your books if you like.

Aiden: No, Mommy, that's too long. I can't be patient. It's too long to wait all the way until the morning.

Laila: I know, but you have to get some sleep. Then you'll wake up in the morning, we'll have some breakfast and then we'll go to your dentist appointment, okay?

Aiden: Breakfast?! Oh, that's gonna take too long. I can't wait.

aiden the jock

Aiden wearing jeans, a VT sweatshirt, and athletic shoes...all ready to head to pre-school. Seems like just yesterday he was wearing a onesie, a bib, and a diaper. Where does the time go? [sigh]

good to get outside finally!

she already wants a bicycle

REI was having a big sale so we stopped by there on Sunday. As soon as we walked into the building, Sky spotted this bicycle and was test-riding around the store. Hmmm..I think I know what she's getting for her birthday!

BTW - at her speed (of learning), I think she'll be taking the training wheels off at the age of four.

pretending to be asleep

I told Sky not to fall asleep on the ride home because it would ruin her nap. So to tease me, she pretended to be asleep. She kept the act up all the way home (about 10 minutes). Adam, Aiden, and I were talking about her as if she couldn't hear us and she was eating it up. She tried so hard to conceal her smile during her act but her little lips kept giving her away.

aiden's igloo

Aiden and Bobba made an igloo today. They had all kinds of (pretend) plans to spend the night in the igloo.

last summer

I found these random pictures from last summer and it really made me miss the summer.

God, please take away the remaining dirty, disgusting mountains off snow piled up at each corner and lets move on to warmer, sunny days. Otherwise I just may crack and fly off to Hawaii.

he makes me so proud

hayden's birthday party at chuck e cheese!

Sky really enjoyed playing whack-a-mole and I was impressed with her hand-eye coordination.

Much to my surprise, Aiden really enjoyed play hoops. I figured the full size basketball wouldn't be much fun but he kept going back to this game.

"Here Sky, I'll put a coin in it and then it will start."

Sky holding on as Aiden makes the monster truck bounce.

BFFs

Check out Sky striking a pose.

bubble beard

Aiden's bubble beard.

Aiden: Sky, Sky, when I grow-up, I'm going to have a beard and I'll shave like Daddy. But not you, okay?

Sky: Yeah, I'm going to be like Mommy.

snowmageddon

Aiden making his way our of the garage. All of pictures were taken before the second (Tuesday) storm.

Adam exhausted from shaking snow off the smaller trees in our backyard.

Yup...that's our driveway.

...and the back deck.

...and the front yard.

thanks for telling me

Sky: What's that smell, Mom?

Laila: I'm making noodles for lunch.

Sky: Mmmm. Smells good, Mom.

Laila: Good. It will be ready in about 5 minutes.

Sky: Thanks for telling me, Mom. I'll tell Aiden too.

Laila: Okay, that would be great.

Sky: Aiden, Mommy is making a tasty lunch for us. You better come. If you don't come, I'll eat it all.

cupcakes

Nothing to do but decorate cupcakes and eat them.

This was during the second (Tuesday) storm...at least this time we had power.
